David Stearns: Play-by-Play
David Stearns was born and raised in Buffalo, New York and attended Mercyhurst University where he received his undergraduate and graduate degrees in intelligence studies and administration of justice. While at Mercyhurst, he called ACHA D1 and NCAA D1 Men's hockey on television and radio. He also co-hosted a local television hockey show in Erie, PA. After moving to the Washington, DC metropolitan area in 2008, he linked up with Brian Schrembs and began calling play-by-play for the UMBC Retrievers. From there, the two have called games for the Washington Junior Nationals and various bantam tournaments, and are currently the official broadcast team for the Potomac Patriots of the USPHL. He has been a hockey fan since conception and continues to support Moscow Dynamo all the way from northern Virginia. He also has soft side for the Buffalo Sabres and Washington Capitals.
Brian Schrembs: Color Commentator
Brian Schrembs was born and raised in Buffalo, New York and attended The State University of New York College at Brockport where he received his undergraduate degree in history and secondary education. He moved to the Washington, DC metropolitan area in 2008 where he began teaching 5th grade social studies. He linked up with David Stearns in 2009 and began doing color commentary for the UMBC Retrievers. From there, the two have called games for the Washington Junior Nationals and various bantam tournaments, and are currently the official broadcast team for the Potomac Patriots of the USPHL. He has been a hockey fan since the age of four and continues to support his hometown Buffalo Sabres all the way from northern Virginia.
John Baranowski: Play-By-play
John Baranowski was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA and received his undergraduate degree in history with a minor in communications from Mercyhurst University and is a thesis defense away from his masters in organizational leadership there. He started broadcasting football at Springdale High School in 2004. In college, he founded the broadcast program that put ACHA D1 hockey on television in Erie, and announced NCAA D1 Men’s and Women’s hockey from 2007-12, and was Public Address Announcer for the Erie Explosion indoor football team in 2012. He moved to Virginia in September of 2013. Among his first memories of life are the Pittsburgh Penguins winning the Stanley Cup in 1991, got really into hockey with the X-Generation Penguins, and has been known for being a hockey historian.
Phillip Prevost: COLOR COMMENTATOR
Phillip Prevost was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA and attended Penn State University where he received his undergraduate degree in business and the University of Pittsburgh where he received his graduate degree in teaching secondary mathematics. In 2012, Phillip relocated to Fairfax County to teach 7th grade Mathematics and Algebra 1. Over the past few years, Phillip has been a member of the Cross Ice Feed team with Scoreboard Operation, Music, and in-game statistics. Phil is a rookie commentator, save for a few charity games last season, but is welcoming the opportunity to provide Color Commentary for the George Mason University Patriots. Phillip is a major Penguins fan and supports anything Pittsburgh
